Scan are the worst company for support

I have been buying from Scan for the last 2 years because their prices were fair and they kept winning best customer care awards. But in the last year alone ive had to do 4 RMAS, with each time the service just keeps getting worse. Firstly it takes them forever to process the RMA. Then they dont listen to any requests as I didnt want refubished board. But they sent one anyway even though i offer to pay extra for a new board. Now the rebubished board is now faulty. They have had the board for 6 days now and nothing no emails.

People who say that RMAs take 4 weeks, they only i have to say to that is that is a load of crap. If i take something but to pc world or currys they test it on the spot with 30minutes.

To honest I wouldnt be writting this if they had just emailed saying that the RMA would take x amount of time. But nothing.

Now Im planning my 2013 build with haswell and HD8970s. I WONT be using SCAN. Instead I will be using Aria and ebuyer.

If it's not DOA then they are at the mercy of what the company that make the kit suggest is a good replacement. The reason why it takes so long is also most of the time if they are warranty repairs they need to be sent off, Scan don't repair the kit. You will experience no better service from the others you mention given a similar set of problems, they all be will be same.

Yes Pc World/Currys would 'test' it, you would probably pay for the 'privilege'. Tbh you lost all credibility when you mentioned those two names anyway.

    Vbstein,

We do take your complaints seriously, can you please post in the after sales support link below with the invoice number(s) that relate to the 4 RMA(s) you are referring to?

    http://forums.hexus.net/scan-care-he...sales-support/

Whilst I appreciate the comments you have made about Currys/PC World it would suggest you return item(s) to their store in person? SCAN also have a returns/technical reception where faulty goods can be returned/tested and replaced whilst you wait (stock permitting of course) however I would assume your returns were not brought into our store?

    Regards

I can vouch for going into the store and being dealt with straight away regarding returns. I thought I would have to still wait a few days for items to be tested but Mick did take my item and take it to the tech team to test on site!

Scan's customer base is very large and it's growing by the day. There will be a queue for RMA's that are posted in. If you are lucky enough to live close to the store (which I am now, I never used to be) then you can take advantage of the on site tests. If not, it's the same case for all company's. If it's not DOA you have to wait for items to be tested. They have to rule out customer damage etc and get to the actually fault! They are a company after all. They can't just hand out replacements willy-nilly.

Well i used to work there. But i know what you mean though. I didnt want a repair, repairs normally break again. I had good experiences with ebuyer and amazon, although the ebuyer was a while ago.

    +1 OP.

I've paid for Saturday delivery twice this year and both times its never arrived on Saturday. I wouldn't be so annoyed but its then been delivered on Monday - which i could have had for free of charge.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: Scan are the worst company for support

I have always had a good experience with scan customer support, more than happy with them. I bought a 3d monitor which was having issues so i returned it and the whole process was fairly quick. Deliveries are always on time the phone support are great.
Alot of late deliveries are down to the delivery company themselves and not scan, extremely frustrating when it happens but if they dispatch the day before delivery then they have done their job. You could say they chose the delivery company so its their fault but its abit harsh.

I do agree but they DPD who happen to be the slowest company in the world. Each i get a tracking number from them they always come after 5. Parcel force or city link always had good experiences with those companys. But scan always use DPD because they are cheaper i believe, you could say its not their fault that DPD are slow. But then why keep using a crap company.

I have never had any issues with DPD, yes the tracking numbers always come through late at night or first thing in the morning but most companies are similar, as for deliveries, I have always got mine next day and on time.

Normally i would get quoted a time like 2pm and they would never get there at 2pm it would always be very late for no reason. However this could just be in my area, as the other people who have posted seem to have good things to say.

SCAN use DPD because in the past they used City Link who were largely seen as being absolutely useless and since changing to DPD they have had far less problems then they had when they were with City Link.

Please can you PM em an Invoice Number so I can look at your order history and investigate why DPD are not keeping to the time slots for you.

    Best Regards
