Scan - What are you doing with my personal details?

Can I please ask where I ticked or signed anything to allow you to (probably) sell my details to 3rd party companies (Reevoo for example) who are now contacting me about products I purchased from Scan?

I don't recall ever giving you permission to do this and I find it outrageous that you are giving my personal details and information about products I have purchased to a 3rd party!

If there is something in the small print you have hidden that says you can do this, please tell me where to remove myself from this option ASAP, and if you won't do that, please remove all of my details from your system so they do not get sold on again without my express permission!

Sorry, just wondering how you discovered it to be scan rather than some tracking cookie etc?

Re: Scan - What are you doing with my personal details?

Because they know the exact name of the item I bought, the exact date (about 4 months ago), they use the Scan logo, say they are working in "partnership" with Scan, mention the reviews will appear on the Scan website and links to T's and C's go to the Scan website.

If it's not Scan selling my details on, Reevoo have a lot to answer for!

It's more than just a bit cheeky, with the amount of spam that's shoved down our throats these days its downright wrong - Love Spam more like.

I've had one as well. It's not cheeky it is bloody unacceptable!!!!

To the best of my knowledge I have NEVER given Scan the right to share my details; how can I be sure? Because I never allow any company that right.

Scan you had better get all my details deleted from revoo or I can promise you the **** will hit the fan.

Re: Scan - What are you doing with my personal details?

Same here, ironically its asking about the very item im currently RMAing with Scan. So i was very disheartend to get an email from Scan saying "About your Iiyama 27" etc.. monitor" which was just spam.

    Poor show.

Re: Scan - What are you doing with my personal details?

Can't see the Reevoo stuff on scan's site anywhere yet though ?

The "good" thing about retailers adopting reevoo is it keeps all the reviews of a product in one place (regardless of retailer).
Many retailers have in the past had their own comment/review system which often serves as a review of the retailer more than the product.

The bad is that the retailer (scan) also signs up to giving all your purchase details over to a 3rd party (reevoo).

But as said, scan don't seem to have put any reevoo integration on the main site yet,
never mind informing customers before selling off their info...

Some Scan users were reading this thread earlier, some still are now. They are probably writing up an explanation that somehow allows them to do this with links to those damned annoying small prints.

Item 4 from Scan's Privacy Policy:

    4. We do not sell, rent or exchange your personal information with any third party for commercial reasons, beyond the essential requirement for credit/debit card validation during purchase.

and in case that page gets edited I have PDFd it.
