cd burning by winows xp

hi guys, do you know why when you try to burn some pictures taken by a digital camera on a cd writes causes the windows xp to throw up an error. ? Not only that when you highlight all the pictures to burn, for some funny reason all the .EXE files in the C. Drive tend to get activated and block up the momery so the computer gets locked down.

It says that can not burn the files on cd because of a error on the blank cd, but I use the same cd for disk copy and no problem. What I have noticed that all . EXE files start running. When I switch to task manager, there are all there trying to run and it clogs up the memory.
