    ADSL Internet is not working.

    HI,
i recently built a pc with kv8 pro motherboard(purchased thorugh scan). But i seem to have some problems with it. I can't ping google.co.uk!!!!!!. The error it says can't find host name. Now that means internet not working but my sister's pc on the same interent (through a router) works perfectly and pings google as well. I think it is somethign wrong with the network controller.
    Please help.

Is ur LAN adaptor recognised and installed correctly in ur OS?

If you can ping 'localhost' 127.0.0.1, then there's a good chance ur protocols are setup correctly. From then on it's most likely a patch cable, or IP/DNS issue..

Check that you have DCHP setup correctly, or that you have valid IP addresses for your PC, and a primary and secondary DNS server of your ISP.

If this is all set correctly, then it could be a firewall restriction, either on ur PC, or on the port of the router hub that you are plugged into..

Let me know how you get on,
    S.
