    Unstable AMD 3500

I've got a suspected faulty AMD CPU that i bought from Scan some 9 months ago.

Do i deal direct with AMD to get a replacement at this point or is it still with your good selves ?

The PC bluescreens and crashes in games etc.

Someone suggested running Memtest and Super-Pi to track down the problem. Memtest runs clear but Super-Pi fails, which points towards a CPU problem.

Stolly, thats covered by us here @ Scan so if you give the returns team a call they'll be able to give you a returns number so we can test it and replace it if it fails our testing procedure here.

    Best Regards,

Cheers will do. Things have moved on slightly in that the PC now fails to boot, the diagnostic lights on this MSI motherboard say its initialising the CPU, and then gets no further. Seems to be the CPU, with an outside chance of the motherboard being faulty.

    Whoops....

I've sent it in for RMA and i've just recieved some emails saying "Your order is now being assembled and will be dispatched to you as soon as possible.
    "

Which i assume to mean a new CPU is on its way back to me....

Problem is i've moved since i ordered this CPU so if you send it back to where i lived back then, its not going to reach me.

I'll PM you my new address, hopefully you can intercept this before it is sent out...

    Its RMA 112250 btw.....

Cheers for that - my fault entirely - just didn't appreciate that the whole thing would be so automatic

    Hi me again

You've been out of stock for a week or so now so obviously i haven't received this, I'm jetting off on my Hols on Wednesday so unless it is sent out today to arrive tomorrow there's no point sending it for a further 3 weeks. Any time after the 9th of May will be fine though

    Cheers !

Well...... I shall try and explain this for you.

At the moment we have sold out of the 3500 CPU's, however we shall be getting them in stock in around 7 days and the good news for you is that the new cpus shall be the newer venice core.

I would suggest that you contact the returns department and quote the RMA number and they shall give a a ETA on when this shall be resolved.
