    Returns Problem

    Hi
    I have Returned a motherboard and cpu to scan, after lots of problem with the combination , the return was accepted and products were found to be faulty, scans policy is that if the products are found faulty i would get a replacement product of the same type, if the products are in stock, or as i had been told when i called up more than once..i will be given alternative product of the same value. well since my rma has been approved i recieved an e-mail sayin that my order will be dispatched by 13th, its now the 15th and had no follow up e-mail or telephone telling me to about any delays ( not what your hold message keeps repeating about getting notified asap), i checked the site which has been showing my motherboard was instock and when i returned the item it was now out of stock, i was angry at this moment and i spent 20 minutes on the phone holding, and when i finaly get through i get told that my motherboard is out of stock and has been reordered by scan and i have no choice but to wait till they get( could be anytime and i need my pc for important uni work) and they have no estimate...(the guy said maybe next week). so much for customer care and other policies you keep advertersing.

    its not really fair...its not fault the products went bad.

    btw if any scan guys ask ...my rma number is 115524

    without being rude i havnt seen a return of mine to Scan or any other company tested/confirmed faulty and invoiced all within 24 hours of the goods being received i have waited in excess of 20 days for replacements from some companies and in excess of 4 weeks for a friend who returned his gfx card to germany, as the manufacturer (i wont name names) had no English office they didnt contact him at any stage and palmed him off for the 4 weeks untill the first notification he received that it was being dealt with was when it arrived back at his door irrespective of over ten calls and no update to chase the card in Germany.

    i understand your frustration as you quite rightly state it isnt your fault that the product failed but in the same way it isnt scans fault you chose a popular board and it failed whilst stock was low.

    have you spoken to Scan as to alternatives perhaps you are within a refundable time period from purchase? could Scan refund you for the board and perhaps let you choose/buy a similar model (if the one you returned doesnt have specific features you were looking for)

    Scan arnt a bad company have you asked them about alternative resolves i mean i have no idea as to your circumstances but im sure theres something they could do?

    i posted the item as quickly as i could and they have recieved tested and verified the rma...i thank them for the quickness, the main point i am trying to make is that they refused to offer me anything else...they said i have to wait for the same item since i bought it while ago.
