Yeah, I've got a Seasonic S12 too, and while it's quiet, it's not even close to silent. The only true silent fans I've used (from a meter or so away, in the case) have been the Sharkoon Golf Ball 1000s (both 80mm and 120mm), and the 80mm Golf Ball 2000s.

The Seasonic is the loudest fan in my system by quite a margin.

That wouldn't be so bad (though I still wouldn't agree with that stance) if they always had Corsair in, but there wasn't any decently priced 2GB kits in stock when I looked last week. Have also been waiting what seems like an age for the 1GB Corsair Value 5300 (single stick).

Even now the only semi-competitively priced Corsair 2GB kit is £25 more than some decent Corsair RAM from a rival store (as Scan only have the Dominator in stock), and a whopping £50 more than some decent RAM from another manufacturer (G.Skill in the example I looked at).

The question is, which is quieter? Sharkoon Golf Balls, Noctua NF-S12's, or Scythe S-Flex? I'm particularly tempted by the 800RPM versions of these, as they should be nearly silent yet still enough to adequately cool a hard disk.

Yeah mate, I've got a Nexus sat on top of my wardrobe - says enough really. They are very quiet though - very, very quiet - just not as quiet (as the Sharkoon 1000 anyway).

Chris, I've not had a Noctua, and I did get a Scythe S-Flex with my heatsink, but if I'm honest, I never bothered to try it - I just replaced it with the Sharkoon 1000. The CPU fan is on a controller anyway, so even if the Sharkoon was louder, it wouldn't have bothered me personally.

Perhaps I could do a comparison at the weekend.

Please do, I currently have a Zalman fan cooling the hard drives in my "internet" PC. It's not loud, but it's not quiet enough either. This PC is on 24/7, so it should have some cooling... and it needs to be quiet whilst I'm working on some music on my other PC.

Would be great if you could get the Zalman "Theatre 6" 5.1 Surround Sound Headphones

Not many places stock them but I think they might no longer be being produced

They are excellent headphones for the price and compared to the Medusa 5.1 surround sound headphones they are so much more comfortable and better sound quality

These are the ones I am onabout:

Would be nice if they were the ones with the microphone attached, it's a great mic and works perfectly

    -----

Oh and the keyboard KME KB-2201 it's pretty much a generic keyboard but it is amazing!

I bought 3 at a computer fair in 2004 for like 50p-70p and I'm on my 3rd one now, I love them

It's about the only semi-flat keyboard I've ever seen, since I don't like full flat laptop keybaords but I don't like full height keyboards

The used to sell them I bought mine from Scan, I can only guess their EOL and have been removed from the site.

As for flat keyboards try out the Logitech Media Elite it;s lovely to type with and very slim and flat.
