Samsung sata 2 hard disks

I had ordered a samsung sata 2 250gb HD, however these werent in stock, and was asked if i wanted to change, i changed to a maxtor 250gb SATA2, but i didnt appreicate till ive got it, just how noisy this drive is in comparison to the samsung.

Is it possible to swop it for a samsung when these come back in stock? The noise is driving me nuts.

If not, and I can appreciate why not, will the sata2 disks work with the sata external enclosure, if they do ill buy one of those and just use it externally when i need it, as its quite a drone.
