Pioneer 107D - Error Burning DVDs.

    Hello,

I purchased a Pioneer DVD-Burner from scan and recently it's developed an error. When using Nero to burn data DVDs i receive the error "Internal Target Failure". I can successfully burn *.iso and *.bin files to DVD but the error above occurs when i'm burning data. I have purchased Nero 7 in an attempt to address the problem, i've also updated my firmware but the problem remains.

Could anyone shed some light on this issue, my drive used to be able to burn DVD-Data in the past and i've not made any changes to my hardware configuration.

    Regards,

    Laze.

From google, it looks like crappy media such as bulkpaq and friends can cause this issue.

    Just Laze.

I would recomend that you change the media your currently using to branded media to see if this clears up the issue.

Normally I would recomend the Ritek media or verbatims

The burning process does not even begin, the failure is instant and a buffer overrun error also occurs.

I will try using different media but mentioning the above are there any further suggestions?

I have also read that this drive has media compatablility issues. It one reason i went o fthe NEC. Try recommened media (see thier website) before it's deemed faulty. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier to see exaclty what the DVD's you have are (i.e. the REAL manufactorer etc).

Thanks for your suggestions guys, i'll purchase some quality media and see if it helps. I went to www.pioneer.co.uk but unlike NEC's website it seems they don't have a recommended media, they don't even list my product on their product page :-/.

    Once again, thanks.
