Mine turned up and I was worried about how much extra weight it was going to
place on the motherboard, it was so big!

Didn't help that I managed to install it the wrong way round first of all!

Thought that fan lead was a bit tight! ;-)
    Doh!
Hope it works well for you. give us an idea of temp differances if you have anything to compare with.

Can't wait till these come on today only.

Wonder if its worth another e-mail?????

How do these compare to the Scythe Ninja or the Thermaltakle Big Typhoon? I am looking at buying one of these three to go with an Opteron 146.

Can't comment on the Thermaltake, but in CPC Issue 30's HSF review temperature charts:

    Athlon:

    Scythe Ninja

    Fanless: -7
    Maximum Fan: -15

    Arctic

    Fan (one speed): -18

    Pentium:

    Scythe Ninja

    Fanless: +8
    Maximum Fan: -6

    Arctic

    Fan (one speed): -19

    So, pretty damn cool!

(Oops, sorry, that's with the Scyth Ninja paired with an Akasa Amber 120mm fan)

(Oh, and the Scythe Ninja is about twice the price of the Arctic?)
