    Scan Secure Payment Information

Scan has successfully implemented Visa and MasterCard’s Secure payment processing as new additional features to help fight the battle on ONLINE cardholder not present (CNP) Fraud.
Below are some quick pointers that may clarify any questions you may have about our payment processing.

    What is 3d secure ?
3D Secure is a new technical standard developed by Visa and MasterCard to further secure Cardholder Not Present (CNP) transactions over the Internet. 3D Secure creates what is called a 'trust chain' throughout the transaction helping authenticate the cardholders using the acquiring banks infrastructure.

What Cards are in the Scheme ?
All Visa and MasterCard’s are part of this scheme. MasterCard brand their system as 'MasterCard SecureCode' and Visa call theirs 'Verified by Visa'.

How does 3D secure work ?
The cardholder creates their password when they enroll with the card-issuing bank. When the enrolled cardholder pays online at a participating merchant, a pop-up window is generated by the card-issuer, which prompts the cardholder to enter his password (visible only to the card issuer). Once the cardholder has identified himself, the result is sent to the merchant, and the transaction is processed. If the cardholder fails to identify themself within 3 attempts, the transaction does not continue and the cardholder is offered to try an alternative payment method.

How is 3D secure activated ?
To register your VISA card please use this link and you will be directed to VISA's website: http://www.visaeu.com/iusevisa/signup.html

To register your MASTERCARD card please use this link and you will be directed to MASTERCARDS website: http://www.mastercard.com/securecd/welcome.do

What other checks are done to your orders ?
There are two bank checks done on all orders placed: Address Verifications Checks (AVS) and Card Security Checks (CSC). In addition to these helpful online features we also collect a lot of other useful information and share this with the banks to verify the validity of payments.

How will it effect my orders ?
Internet fraud is on the rise and we have to be extra careful when taking payments to authenticate their validity. We will, in some cases, require proof of ID prior to any orders being released.

We pride ourselves on the actions we take to ensure the payments are taken safely and securely. The effect this has on orders is difficult to say due vast amount of data we need to process in order to get an authenticated transaction. Please be assured that we work as efficiently and effectively as possible to minimise our processing time to get the order processed.
