Xfx 7800gt Xxx Pci-e

Hi, i purchased one of the above cards about 2 months ago now, or there abouts, but im having a couple of issues with it, namely.

1. The fan speed is on a constant speed and not variable, which i believe it should be.
2. This card comes factory OC'd by 50mhz or so on the memory and GPU clock, but with this clock speed my pc will crash when in games after about ten minutes. So far this has happened in Need For Speed Most Wanted and Toca Race Driver 3. so i have now underclocked this card to the normal 7800GT settings and this seems fine.

My main question is, is there a firmware update i could possibly do to fix the problem or would i need to return this card to yourselves for a repair/replacement? or are there any other ways i could resolve this issue. I know im moaning about 50mhz but i paid for the OC'd card for a reason. Any help would be welcomed, thanks alot

There was an issue with the coolers on some of the coolers not using the varible speed.

As far as I know there isnt a update you can apply to the card to fix this, and also as the card is crashing at XFX default speeds I would say there is possibly a fault with the card or the system configuration that the card is installed in.

Best bet is to log a query with our returns department and see if they can advise any fixes for the faults your having

I had the exact same problem with the fan variable speed, but i found that using 84.20 driver sets seems to have cured the problem i had. It still happens now and again but VERY rarely
