AMD price drop

was about to buy my CPU very shortly, but now i'm thinking i shoul;d wait till AMD 2 comes out as all prices will be dropping on the AMD gear which is out now? If / when it does drop, what would the estimated guess that a Dual core 4200+ would be? so far ive got around 250 + / - a little...... not sure weather to wait till prices drop and spend less on a 4200 or just spend the 250quid and get something like a 4400? which should drop to the 4200 price

yeah thats what Id like to know about AMD cpu's as well. Will be building a new pc soon, at the moment have just been looking around.

even if its a month, i'll wait,, as i can use my gf's to do little things , ie - browse the net. just want to know if there is going to be a price drop and a estimated price to what they go down by

I doubt AMD will drop prices in light of the AM2 socket. The reason being is they'll want to sell a lot of AM2's at launch, and as initial prices will undoubtedly be high the last thing they want to do is drop s939 prices so more people go the 'value' route. Price drops, if any will occurr when the 2nd wave of AM2's hit the streets & s939 production will start to wind down.

Just my opinion, so dont flame me if it turns out to be complete arse
