    promise sata controller card help

Hi I have suffered with Event 51 errors for the past few months and after my 250gb hard drive decided to cause nothing but lockups I decided to purchased a Promise Sata300 TX2 card to run my hard drive's from insted of using the onboard sata connections as I believe this will fix my errors.

I have got the 250gb drive on this card, but I cannot find a way to add my 80gb windows drive to this card and boot from it, I have since started to receive event 51 errors on my 80gb drive which previously had never been a problem:

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D

Any advice on booting windows from a controller card would be appricated, I currently do not have a floppy disk drive in my pc.

Install the card with no HDD attached, then install driver for the card in windows, after that move the harddrive to the controller card.

Set the system to boot from BBS device 1 and it should boot off your 80G.
You may also need to change boot.ini to specify which card to boot from. (I haven't been using dual boot / change controller configuration for ages so didn't have to mess with it)

I cannot seem to find a way to make it boot from the card, in the bios their is no choice for it, if i place both cardsinto the controller card i receive a message that windows cannot boot, as if the hard drive is missing.

I can see the 2 drives under boot-hard drive but not in boot order.

I've also had these errors with a 250GB Maxtor SATA drive running off the onboard SATA controller on an nForce board. I sorted it by going into Device Manager, properties for the SATA controller and turning off command queueing.
