Allendale E6300 looks very nice if you just want to keep the pocket for kentsfield.
With E6300 you can get a maximum of 3.5 with the current bios available, furthermore about 4.0 with a mere E6300.
I'm looking for a E6600, for a extra cache, maybe with a Gigabyte achieving 600 FSB with a good bios, It will not make any sense spending on a expensive CPU like X6800 with a 1066 FSB Bus. I hope Intel will launch the next Extreme version withn at least a 1333 FSB Bus to compensate the price for it.
A Gigabyte DS3 as said above.
Together with 2gbCorsair C4 6400 TwinX
Running 480 this morning but temp are my problem now with this ninja Cooler
I think this is the max you can reach with basic air cooling
But thats still not Bad for a £135 CPu
Considering the NB is quite hot at around about 450fsb, if it manages to reach 600fsb the board will be melting, u will need some serious NB cooling to hit the high fsb's and have a stable clock.Originally Posted by Metroid
