The dark side of Today Only...

Hmm. I feel the need to vent my spleen - I'm not expecting anything to come of this but hey...

Two days ago, I finally took the plunge and ordered myself (amongst other things) a set of Gigaworks S750 speakers, which are due to arrive today. I payed £256.96 inc. VAT.

Today, they're on Today Only for £233.83 inc. VAT.

I'm just somewhat irate as I paid an extra £13 swapping the (out of stock) Raptor 150 for an (in stock) Raptor-X 150 in order to make it ship yesterday. If I'd waited until today, I'd have saved a total of £36.

Unfortunately mate, thats life when it comes to purchasing electronic equipment. Its all part and parcel of running a business if they dont constantly adjust they're prices (according to the prices they receive from they're suppliers) then they will lose custom.

Also, if you wait another couple of months, you'll find you can save even more money! And then, if you wait a bit longer, even more!

It's the joy of technology advancement I'm afraid.

You guys are entirely missing the point, which is that this is nothing to do with technology advancement or gradual price adjustments - this is a random one-off reduction which I am (understandably) irritated to have missed, especially after buying a more expensive component to ensure early shipping...

Tomorrow morning, the price will be back up to £256, which has been the price for two years, if not longer...

Its just the case that you turned out to be unlucky. Today only is controlled by people who request the items to be on there. If you are that bothered about it why didnt you request it on today only and wait and see if the price drops at all.

Iæm sure this has been discussed many times. TodayOnly items are put on there if demand is high. Ironically you probably contributed to the sales quota that meant the item was considdered for TodayOnly.

I know this has happened to me in the past. Not a problem. I was happy to pay the original price for the item, if i hadn't been, i wouldn't have bought it.

I ordered 6 full sets of catridges and a Canon R220 printer yesterday. I actually thought they might have been on TodayOnly today because of that. Yet had i waited, they probably wouldn't have been.

    Thanks the breaks.

It's just unlucky, I ordered all my components this week from a different vendor and today most vendors have reduced their E6600 CPU prices, at the same time some of the other parts I bought have gone up in price - it swings in roundabouts.

We can wait forevery for the best price but then we might never buy anything

The same thing happened to me, I have got the set , i mean the speakers and the elite pro Xfi with console , I should have got some headphones or something with it. Its tough luck i guess.
