    Dell 2407WFP Banding problem.

right its a few months down the line, i thought i could live with the banding issue as it never showed a problam on desktop or in game.

but now i have a game that uses gradients and it looks terrible.

i have been on the dell forums and turned off ACC and i can still see it, in any of the 3 modes.

where do i go from here scan, i know dell will warranty swop the monitor, do i need to start this with you to get Dell to stump up the A03 revision ?

and sending it back to you via RMA is not an option unless your going to provide me with a 24 inch LCD while mine is away

    thanks in advance.

Been there done that since dec 2005 with a 2005 and just got a 2407 for all my problems. I have the A03 and desktop mode has no banding but gaming and media still do. Call dell on 08709080500 ask for the monitor department - give them the serial off the back and ask for a replacement.

All free and next day swop out.

Which version do you have? If its AO2 then there is little point in changing it. The only difference between AO2 and AO3 is some OSD language options.

Check round the back where the power cable goes in. It should say which it is.

quick question to anyone who has done this b4, do they want the faulty monitor back when they deliver the new one, or do they arrange a pickup after you do the swop ?

Sorry to hear that, what is it doing? What are you doing at the time?

And yes, they take the old one back.

well i never saw the blue dell logo come up on the screen b4.

i was just sat here surfing, been home about an hour as i had to go out soon after getting the new screen (refurb)
monitor went off, no lights, came straight back on. black screen dell logo, then back off, and so on until i pulled the power and pushed it back in.

then i get the dell logo for about 5 seconds as the dell changed from one blue to another (must be the power cycle ) and my desktop comes back.

that lasted about 30 seconds and started doing the same again.

just checked all cables etc and found the DVI port to be faulty, i cant get one of the screws back out, only put it in finger tight so this must be damage from the previous owner or while it was on test.

great, just had to power off for a min as it did it again.

stuck until at least wednesday when im going to be able to take delivery, means time off work if there not here early, didnt show up till after the 5pm deadline today

yes its screwed. on the engineer screen, it only clocked 24 hours of being plugged into the mains.

damn damn damn, where do i stand now, am i at the mercy of dell sending refurb crap units or can i demand a new one with it being less than a year old ?
