For the Dimension 5000 you have to remember that this is the brand spanking new BTX format case.

Both the 5000 and the 8400 have PCI-e so future upgradability is possible....

Grrr, Why is it these links NEVER work for me? All I get from Firefox is "This Document Contains No Data" and then a blank page =/

IE also gives me a "cannot find server / this page cannot be displayed"

    (Even happens just on www.dell.com)

I used to get the same, but now it works fine in IE and Firefox

Do you have some sort of ad blocker? I used to run a couple of firewalls and stuff, turned one off and now the Dell site works Seems it was blocked because it was Dell, and everything Dell related was blocked on my firewall due to them giving up a load of pop ups advertising stuff.

    E-value codes:
    101-D04841 (8400 with x300 and 15" TFT) @ £422 or
    101-D04502 (5000 with on-board gfx and 19" TFT)@ £469

The 19" TFT 5000 looks really good value to me. Its a pitty they dont have the option for upgrading to a 10K rpm hard drive (+£11) on the Dell 5000.
