    Scan 3XS C2D-OC really OC'd?

    Hi!

I'm still looking over the various systems available for my ideal system and I've found the Review system 'Scan 3XS C2D-OC'. Reading the review it states:
...Scan has overclocked the COre 2 Duo E6600 processor from its standard 2.4GHz right up to 3GHz.
If I order this system as seen on the website, is this OC included in the £1499 price? If it is that is crazily good value! If not, is it an easy overclock? I've read quite a bit but not actually done any OC's yet...

    Anyway, thanks for the help!

Yes, that system is overclocked by the systems department to get the CPU upto 3Ghz when applicable.

Having agonised for I don't know how long I have now pretty much settled on the system detailed in this thread here.

I am assuming this is overclocked to 3Ghz but will the watercooling allow greater speed gains? Is this safe for long term use (i.e. will it effect the longevity?)

    Thanks for your help,

    G

Depends how long your going to keep it.

Seeing as SCAN warranty it it'll at least last that long. I've had overclocked PC's last a few years (and still going before I sold them). Yes it will slightly reduce the life of the processor, but we're talking reducing 10 years to 9....and by then we'll be being told what to do by our own computers

And yes watercooling should allow you to go up to around 3.3-8GHz depending on the chip/setup/experience and in all honesty: whether you have the guts to do it
