    Ordered Today -> Delivery Friday?

    I've always looked at Scan's site but usually gone and ordered with Dabs, Aria or eBuyer instead for various reasons. Today when I was after a PSU for the family PC to the replace the one that's died, I had a look at Scan and the price of the Enermax PSU I was after was cheaper (importantly instock as well!), and with the free Hexus delivery, it seemed like a good time to try them out.

    When it came to ordering, the earliest delivery date I was able to select was Feb 2nd. Knowing Scan use Citylink which is next-day, that seemed quite odd to wait 3 days for someone to package it up and post it out, but figuring it might get out earlier I went ahead and ordered anyway (invoice ID E824491).

    I decided to give them a phone a couple of hours later to check what the deal with delivery was, and after 5 minutes waiting I was told that it would probably be shipped Thursday for a Friday delivery due to a backlog.

    Maybe I've just been spoilt by the other companies who do next day/day-after-next either as standard or for an extra fee, but, it seems quite a wait? Normally I wouldn't be bothered about the delivery time at all (eBuyer super-saver is great ) but when the family are moaning at you to either fix the PC or asking to use mine things start looking a bit more urgent - the fact I'm off on Wednesday probably factors in as well.

    Looking at the latest hexus.trust entries, this seems to be the norm at the moment. Is this the SCAN everyone seems to rave about, or, has xmas just hit you hard and you're still recovering? If I decide to order again in the future, what is the usually delivery period?

    Hopefully someone from Scan can shed some light

    To confirm City Link only guarantee next day delivery from the point of despatch, we don’t guarantee next day delivery from the point of ordering.

    We make every effort to supply each and every customer with a prompt and efficient delivery service.

    The estimated despatch dates are based on a volume of orders; we try and are as open and honest as possible to prevent any unnecessary disappointment.

    More information can be found via the sticky placed in the forum.

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    So what's the turnaround time you'd *like* to have? I know there's all this talk of delays due to this and that, but, what sort of turnaround times do you want to reach, and what do you expect to reach when all this is done and sorted?

    Scan takes every effort to supply each and every customer with a prompt and efficient delivery service, we will be aiming to despacth a majority of orders same day from the point of order. The estimated despatch date wil be confirmed on placement of the order

    Isolated problems here and there are an unavoidable consequence for any company dealing with such high volumes of deliveries and other factors also need to be taken into account such as the time the order is placed and stock.
