Thumbs down ebuyer problems, poor stock system & communication.

I ordered a camera from ebuyer last week (7th) it said 19 in stock so i ordered through google checkout (for speed mainly). my order went through fine.

until yesterday i noticed my item had not been dispatched (it was due today). I emailed them at 4pm last night (no reply). So i telephoned to find that they had no stock the person on the phone basically called me a liar saying the website must have said zero stock when i ordered.

she then went on to say i have had an email saying it was out of stock (blatant lie)

if they had contacted me a week ago (within a few days or me ordering) i would not have had a problem, its the fact that they just left it then just denied any of it was their fault.

So now i have to wait 7 days for my money back, so if your looking for an urgent crimbo pressie, dont use ebuyer, or if you have to dont trust the stock system.

just ordered with them 3 times and had no problems. it's sad to see you've been treated badly by them, or by that one cs person. i think google checkout is slower than using ebuyers system as the money has to be transferred again to ebuyer. I used ebuyers inbuilt payment system and it goes much quicker than google checkout I have to say. their stock levels change quite frequently too. I've never had a stock discrepancy problem with them.

Cancel your order - you don't need to take attitude like that from anyone.

I have heard this a few times now and it always seems to be when someone has paid using google checkout.

I've had the same thing happen to me twice and both orders were placed with a Visa card - not google checkout.

Re: ebuyer problems and poor stock system & communication.

It happened to me as well.

System showed there were over 50 in stock at the time but they didn't have any. I moaned quite a bit, was phoning them 3 times a day on the last two days of the farce and they gave me free 3 day delivery for the next order.

Got the case a couple of days later but wanted it before the bank holiday.

I paid with a credit card, not via GC.

Re: ebuyer problems and poor stock system & communication.

The problem for ebuyer is they move such a huge volume of stock. When something says 50 or less with them I expect the worst and with their customer base they could easily have sold them within the last hour or so. Especially if its a good deal.

I've dealt with their CS a few times now, you eventually get there but they really aren't very good. Its the usual I suppose, they now are so big most of their staff don't care and don't know anything about whats sold.

I suppose, but the camera in question had been replaced with a newer model (i wanted older slightly cheaper one) and had 20 in stock when i first looked at it. so as you would do when your looking to buy something new i spent a few hours looking at reviews. When the time came to purchase it they had 19 in stock so they had sold 1 in about 2-3 hours.

Re: ebuyer problems and poor stock system & communication.

Ive had issues like this with them also, a few weeks ago actually. I ordered something that was in stock at the time, only to be sent an email a few days later telling me it was out of stock and the order would be cancelled within 48 hrs.. dealing with their customer service to resolve this was a nightmare as well. I contacted them several times, and they didnt seem to know what they were doing!

Of course Scan never have any delayed despatch issues or email notifications sent when it's too late to do anything about it.

    I have to say,

I've purchased from ebuyer many times.

    And never had a problem.

yep, scans stock problems are almost daily, nearly every order. when you add something to your basket theres always one item on preorder or out of stock. one time i had my samsung spinpoints on preorder. come monday i checked the order wasnt despatched, and the items were still out of stock on the site. they came suprisingly, and on the site they were still out of stock and out of stock when ordered. a day later i got the emails of order despatch etc. still not perfect though.

Same here, Ebuyer been fine every order, placed about 20 this year, Scan not good in any way apart from telephone CS staff and price. Bad to hear about EBuyer's CS person though, never had any problems with them myself, lets hope she gets the boot
