    No, you're an idiot.

But despite the resurrection, what actually happened in the end with this Agent?

Re: Text messages from debt collection

something like this happened to a friend of mine regarding an O2 mobile phone bill that had happened whilst he was out of the country. He paid it in full 3 weeks late when he came back. The mistake was actually on O2's part too, which they admitted in writing.

The firm kept hasseling him for the next 18 months.

He used his legal insurance and started action against them, apparently they've stopped bothering him.

Re: Text messages from debt collection

I think we're going to see a lot more of these as companies try to improve the cash flow anyway they can. One of the most obvious is factoring old debts to companies like this. The problem is that the data isn't cleaned before being sold.

With all of these cold-calling debt collectors, act decisively and shut them down with the correct use of the legislation. It's there to protect you.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Re: Text messages from debt collection

Greenalien - that's an unfair sweeping generalisation. No one knows what will happen in the future after taking out a loan or a credit card. If someone loses their job and cannot keep up payments, does that make them scum?
Please read what was posted before making inaccurate comments. The people I was castigating are those who deliberately take on loans with no intention of paying them back, not those who have the misfortune to be unable to make repayments through circumstances beyond their control.
