Post DVD player that can play Divx/XVid from a USB Stick.

    - It seems these players are selling like hot cakes and i am tempted to get one.
    - Has anyone brought the Sumvision Phoenix Premium Divx HDMI DVD player?
    - I love the fact you play stand-alone DVD movies (as well divx & XVID) from a USB stick.
    - I have been reading various forums and the reviews seem to be mixed for this player.

    - Or would u recommend something else?

    - Link to the player if anyone else is interested http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?W...source=froogle

I looked at the Sumvision, but decided to go with the Philips DVP5980 I phoned up Currys in town to check they had stock; then went to Richersounds and they price matched and took off another £5. So I got it for £34.99.

The Philips has handled everything I have thrown at it so far, very impressed for 35 quid, and even at £39.99 its a dam good price.

Re: Sumvision Phoenix Premium Divx HDMI DVD player

I am able to play both Xvid & Divx vidoes from a flash drive on a Phillips DVP5960, so I would think there should be no problem on a DVP5980
