When her Vaio breaks, buy a Dell Studio They are very well built, and Dell Customer Support is wonderful.

She loves it. I have had a play too, and it is quite nice, but there's SO much VAIO software on it that i'm pretty sure is unnecessary. Oh well, I won't fiddle with it, it's her baby

It isnt just Vaios, all laptops seem to come full of bloatware, I know HP and Toshiba are pretty bad aswell. Whenever I get a new laptop I always spend like 20-30 minutes cleaning the crap off.

You go through the list of install programs and uninstall everything that you know doesnt come with windows, but always test anything before you uninstall, you dont want to remove any software; laptop brand or 3rd party that opperates a crucial part of the laptop eg. fingerprint reader, touchpad, media keys, etc.
