As far as I know it's applicable on any item in the shop. If they decide not to do it, then I say fine, I will buy the console somewhere else (try to wrestle with their manager, sometimes it can work out)

How long before the actual release date can these places actually recieve the consoles themselves?

I'm going to be getting mine from PC World, free delivery I think (if not I can pick it up, its a 10 mins walk away) and I get a 10% off UCAS Student discount card So £28 off the deluxe package thankyouverymuch

a £28 discount on a 360 would wipe out almost all profit, infact it might not cover the cost of it with all overheads applied.
Keep in mind that STAFF at popular retailers such as Virgin / hmv / game / ect... get 10% or less off hardware.
Dont get me wrong, i wish you luck, but i wouldnt keep your hopes up

Yeah I thought they'd get them in at least a few days prior to release - which can be a good thing if you know people that own the shops

Over the last week or two I've been reading up a lot on the X360, and naturally I now find myself wanting one, now now now!!!

I'm thinking about pre-ordering cause I'd like to have the console on December 2nd, however, I haven't ordered yet cause I'm hoping to get a bundle deal.
What I want is the X360 Premium Edition, an extra wireless controller, and Project Gotham Racing 3.
Or any other bundles that are made available.

If I wait any longer for bundle deals, do you think I'll lose out on getting the console on day of release?

No one knows, at the moment though, unless you pre order one, getting it on the day of release is looking less likely due to supply problems.

Theres no point in buying it from amazon, as its the same price as everywhere else, and you have to wait for it to be shipped, if you want one that bad, see if you can blag it at game if theyve got any left

I'm certainly waiting until the price goes down a little bit. I dont seem to be in that much of a hurry to get one and it is at a ridiculous price.

I gotta admit, I'm with derthballs on this one.
I was worried about the X360, figured it would start at £399 minimum, so I thought I wouldn't be able to afford it for quite a while.
When I saw the £280 premium pack, it practically sold itself to me. Can't wait!
