Currys Employee checking in :ninja:
IMHO, from what I've seen.
[worst -> best]
DO NOT BUY BEKO. I have only heard horror stories. Cheap, and crap.
Indesit and Hotpoint are both owned by Merloni. Customer service is diabolical. Hotpoint are a little better in terms of build quality than Indesit.
Servis aren't horribly unreliable but their machines don't seem very solid.
Hoover are OK I guess but for a little more you can do better.
Zanussi are usually pretty decent. Worth the money.
LG seem ok - the direct drive ones are supposedly more reliable. They seem ok from what I've heard. Expensive though. Better with a bosch imho
Bosch are best bang-for-buck. Nice, solid, slightly expensive machines.
Miele are bomb-proof machines :> 500 quid for a 1200 spin machine will bone your wallet pretty hard though. 1 year warranty as standard, meile will extend it to 5 years for about 30 pounds. Well worth it.
As for extended warranties, the currys one is ok but always haggle.
Benefits: guaranteed 2 day call out, repairs within 21 days, new machine if your old one cant be fixed, accidental damage included.
A 300 quid machine will cost you 179 for 5 years cover, or about 5 quid amonth. At minimum you should be able to haggle free installation (25 quid) if you take the cover. Depending how the salesperson is, and how well they have done today, you may get 30-50 pounds off the cover. But haggle. Never buy it at full value.
