is it possible to use nmap, or something similar to determine which computers on a local network are running windows?
I know nmap can work out what OS machines use, and am hoping it can be used in this way.
Ta.

don't think nmap works on windows because of some of the library functions used.
It is Inevitable.....
im running it from a linux box, just needed a list of all windows machines on the network.
Doesnt matter now though, ta : )
