Windows 7 64 Ultimate
AMD x6 1055T Phenom @3.3ghz
Asus M4A89GTD-Pro-USB3
HD 6850 1GB GDDR5
4GB Corsair XMS3 (2x2GB)
Tx 650w Corsair PSU
250GB Samsung Spinpoint Sata HD
200GB Maxtor Dmax10 IDE
LG Sata2 DVD/RW
Lancool K62 Case
TY Buff Probally take a month longer before we get em reduced And 3 mths after 25% reductions doyou think
I doubt there will be monster cuts in s939 because that might reduce the demand for AM2
I was hoping there would be cuts so a Venice 3000 could come in around 50-60. Can hope.
If the rumours about the performance of the impending Core Duo 2 are true, then AMD will need large price reductions accross the board.

Does this mean it's best to wait six months before upgrading then?
Ah - the eternal question
There's always 'something better around the corner' - but when that something is fairly imminent I would wait.
6 months ago I bought a top of the range laptop, knowing that a dual-core version would be available in about 6 months, but I didn't care as I knew it wouldn't be vastly better than mine.
If you want to buy AMD, you might as well wait until the end of the month for AM2 to get at least a small amount of 'future-proofing', and DDR2 is actually cheaper than DDR at the moment.
If I was doing a major upgrade I would wait a couple of months to see exactly how the new Intel dual-core perform - I think an AMD upgrade in the next few weeks might then look quite poor value.

Good point Waka!
Thank you for the information.Originally Posted by Waka

The one I have is quiet but I can still hear it. Idea was to have a Scythe Ninja cooling the cpu and have the minimum number of fans in the P180.
I just want the cheapest S939 (don't want Intel) Venice and a motherboard. Will have to wait a bit as you advise.
I would wait for a month or two, but saying that by then there will prop be somthing else out!!lol
