    Cheapest Core 2 Duo m'board

I am planning on building a new system in the next few weeks. Does anyone know if you can get a core 2 duo board for around £50? All the ones I can find are almost £150 or more which i cannot afford when i have to factor in new RAM, CPU, graphics card etc...

Maybe like an AsRock one or something. Any help is much appreciated!
Well, I can cut it in half!

Has some good support around the web too, not the best overclocker , but OK

if you don't like via chipsets i recommend the asrock 945 chipset ones

i went for the conroe one as 4 ddr2 slots vs 2 on the cheaper one

gonna set up over weekend with aceleron D and buy a conroe chip asap.

scan - motherboards -925/945/975 set lowest price filter and there they are..

they tend to say in the mobo spec

supports core 2 duo or conroe

that other asrock mobo is micro atx so less room for pci expansion cards. And more fiddly yo setup due to smaller size.

All p965 boards support conroe/allendale some 945 and 975(x) boards too but you have to check each board. Some only work with a bios flash and are a bit dodgy

I have purchased the 2nd cheapest p965 board the gigabyte s3 which is the same as ds3 but has regular as opposed to solid capacitors. Though I believe the solid capacitor thing is a bit of a gimic. I believe the MSI neo is cheaper but lacking in some features.
