    Web hosting? (UK)

    Hey guys,

I am looking for the best deal on web hosting which I am going to share with a few friends. It needs ...

    • support for multiple domain names
    • 1GB+ hosting
    • decent/unlimited bandwidth
    • support for php, asp
    • upload and email components
    • SQL database

    Any and all suggestions welcome.

    Thanks

    QiQ hosting?

It's who I'm looking to go with - support seems pretty good, answered my question within 3 mins (and this was at 5 to midnight ) 10Gb Space 100Gb Bandwidth. Supports all the technologies you list - and their cheaper package has up to 5 SQL Databases.

    All for £19.99 a year.

There is also a 60% off offer on atm, but catch it whilst it lasts

If QiQ had cPanel I might switch.. their control panel looks shabby compared.

QiQ looks like great value, and it's just up the road from where I live which always adds to the feel good factor! As long as they support the components I need, I have emailed to ask, I think I am sold, thanks

One thing I forgot to ask, and you may know. How much are domain names with them?

    Thanks

Another vote for QiQ, not only do I use them for my personal site but all the websites I build end up on there. The customer service is utterly fantastic and the price is brilliant.

QiQ here as well. No problems with their service and one of the few to offer me ssh access. (Secure Shell - a secure version of telnet).

I've got 2 I've used in the past.

    One is Catalyst2 - http://www.catalyst2.com

My current one is Cube-Media http://www.cube-media.com

Both very good, though I think Cat2's support just has the edge.

They use CPanel for their Linux boxes, but HELM for their Windows boxes - excellent value for money and fantastic support.

    And HELM rocks!

1and1 = dire - i bought several domain names that i had no need to reregister - the swines reregistered them 3 weeks before due date then demanded i pay them - politely told to swing for it. they then locked other paid for domain names to attempt to force me to pay. failed as i got nominet to transfer them regardless - will never use again - i use 123-reg for domains and qiq for hosting !
