Honestly, if you buy one RTS this year, World in Conflict has to be it.

I loved the beta test of this game and it caused me to loose quite a lot of time due to playing it

I need a new PC to make this game run at it's full potential so thats my next thing on my shopping list.

Better than SupCom: forged alliance?

It doesn't have the research tree or resource collecting of SupCom... and on balance I'd have to go with SupCom as just edging it in SP...

The thing is, I prefer the real world setting of WiC and the SP campaign in WiC is damn fun and a real challenge on hard difficulty... add in the extremely satisfying MP (IF you play with a team orientated bunch of players) and I have to say that WiC is the better all round package.

And if you don't play online that much, definitely give WiC a go, so far everyone I've met, even if they leave me floundering without air cover in the game, are actually very helpful and polite.

So once you lot have got yerselves a copy, let's get a game together.

I've got a copy of this, but haven't played it yet.

I didn't really enjoy the beta that much, but maybe because I didn't really know what I was doing. Certainly going to give it another chance!

i enjoyed the single player demo alot more than MP - MP was just a little too fast paced and disorientating for me

I was surprised just how good the game looked on my pc at playable settings considering I put it at 1680x1050 - I found when I lowered the resolution the game didnt scale well

I played the beta and demo, and was a bit iffy on both, but pre-ordered anyway, arrived about an hour ago, absolutely stonking game. Just played the first mission, artillery going off all around, choppers making strafing runs, civilians fleeing in all directions, in single player Sup Comm cant hold a candle to this and what impressed me most, if you play on the harder difficulties and and just go from objective to objective (a la C&C/Sup Comm), you will get slaughtered.

In multiplayer WIC is still pretty weak, good fun if you have a decent set of people, still very boring if you don't. The campaign is more than enough to make up for it though.

Back to the fight, I'm totally addicted after an hour

I like the sound of it, but I don't wanna end up buying it and it just sitting on the shelves...I LOVED the demo, but I'm not sure the fun will hold up and last..
