I've never really felt the need to own a notebook before, but since the Eee PC came along I've started to get very tempted by these low cost machines.

Not at the moment, maybe a lil later when they develop more.
I bought into the craze and then sold out. The original eeePC was hovering around the impulse price for me and I gave in! The prices and spec have improved but the newer models are now too much for the use I would get from it. The Acer is the only one that could tempt me, simply due to price/spec.
There are many to choose from yet none of them is quite right - at the moment there are too many compromises. The original eeePC has too small a screen and most of the new variants and competitors are too expensive - they're into the realm of cheap laptops and thus under-powered for the money.
If I bought a sub-notebook I'd want something cheap, small and useful. At the moment you can pick any two of those.
I am toying with the Idea want one for the GF as she always want to browse the net when Im gaming and she cant use the PS3. I would also find them useful but which one I dont know I was intersted in the MSI Wind.

I'm undecided.
There are aspects that appeal, mainly weight (or lack thereof).
But, my current laptop (which is a lovely NEC machine that's now several years old) is relatively light, decently powerful, has good battery life and still works just fine.
If I was replacing it, I might well go sub. I'd certainly look seriously at them. But I see no reason to change the NEC for what would amount to fashion-accessory reasons. So when I need to replace it, I'll look at subs. But while it's working fine and doing what I need of it, I'm not looking for an excuse to spend money. There's enough of them already, without dreaming up more.
In other words, while they look to be a good concept, there's not enough benefit to convince me to upgrade from a machine that still does what I need of it. They're a good idea, but other than as a fashion statement, not an essential one.

MSN works flawlessly using Fring, and I use Opera when needed to browse about so if my phone is able to do it when I am out and about why would I need to use a sub-book ?
I do really like them, but ill probably hold out until they just a little more power.

Those that buy subs will be those that either like the fashion status, or those for whom the feature blend is right, and that don't need a full-blown laptop but need more than a phone.

Sort of bought into it. Not the little laptop though. I feel they are rather overpriced.
I've just got an HTC TytnII phone which does most of what I would want out of a mini laptop while being much smaller and doing things (like having a GPS) that the little notebooks don't do.
It has Office on it and I've found a freeware application that allows me to control it with a PC keyboard and mouse for when I need to do serious data entry that the internal keyboard can't cope with

I just went with a really small and light 11" laptop.
I would have liked a smaller one but the price/performance ratio obviously changes as you get smaller and the laptop I bought fit my requirements at a really good price. I am not sure I will ever go for anything small than this, if I need something truly portable I have my N95 8g and that is like a PC in your pocket anyway.

Considering one that I can take out and about with me easily for general net use and email etc It will also be used for music and the occasional movie. Looking at the MSI wind at the moment(esp as PC world have it at about £279 albeit as a rebadged advent which doesn't bother me).
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
