    Ok I Bought The Tagan Psu But Now A Question

    Hi All

    after my thread of which psu to buy ,i decided to get the tagan 480w now i just have a nice easy question for you all

    my case is a raidmax window jobby and the part where the psu goes in is not a cradle just seems to be a couple of rails either side and it slides in with multiple holes for screws

    for tidyness and ease of putting wires that i dont use on the other sliding door can i simply just flip the psu so that it is upside down and the wires are on the left hand side instead of being on the right

    will this affect operation in anyway

    cheers

    Shouldn't do, providing it'll fit. However, that PSU probably has a fan or vent at the "bottom" designed for cooling. It's more for the benefit of the case and CPU, rather than the PSU, but if you don't have much other cooling it's pretty important.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    i dont think it has top or bottom ventalation just front and back so you think it will be ok just flipping it over it wont affect any sensors will it for fan controlling

    Well seeing as your vents are on both ends it shouldnt be a problem. 'm sure the electronics wont mind being upside-down .

    My Vantec PSU has a van on the underneath and one on the back which channel air through the PSU. Considering the relativley hot air that vents out of the PSU i would imagine this is an important aspect of the PSU cooling process. Although it undoubtedly helps move air acros the M/B and CPU, i think blocking this inlet fan would have a detrimental efffect on the cooling of the PSU.

    It's actually a recommendation to turn the Tagan unit upside down. See the scan.co.uk site.
