Not sure if you classify a clock radio as a standalone alarm clock, but that's what i use at home.
I do tend to use my mobile if I'm away though.

Re: Headlines - Question of the day: do you still use an alarm clock?

Nope. I use neither a phone, nor a "radio alarm clock".

I use a program called MCE alarm clock which is a plugin for MCE2005 and plays any of a range of mp3's I select at random.

It's great getting woken up to the thud of bass and stuff from some funky breaks or some dirty D&B

    I couldn't tick 2 options...

I use a stand alone alarm clock, and my mobile phone

Oh and the noise of the neighbours leaving.

Re: Headlines - Question of the day: do you still use an alarm clock?

My alarm clock is my phone - the option to set 6 or something alarms to go off at different times gets even the heaviest sleeper to wake up.

Which is handy really, as I've slept through fire alarms, apparently didn't make a sound through the great storm of '87 etc...

Re: Headlines - Question of the day: do you still use an alarm clock?

Yes, its an ancient Peanuts one I was given as a child.

The neighbour who gave me it now lives in Taiwan so I am highly unlikely to see him ever again. Between this and a love of Pepsi in the summer is all I have of those days. He was a good family friend, helping my father build the conservatory (hand made) back in my single digits.

Still can't wake up well tho :/

Re: Headlines - Question of the day: do you still use an alarm clock?

I've got my radio alarm clock set to go off @ 7am and my phone to go off @7:30 (Mon-Fri - setting which days the repeat alarm goes off is great) and then I get a cup of coffee brought to me somewhere in between that. so that's 3 of the options then. I also seem to wake up naturally at around that time if my alarm doesn't go off (but then I'm never sure If I've woken up early or if my alarm hasn't gone off)

Re: Headlines - Question of the day: do you still use an alarm clock?

    I'm surely unique.

I have an oldish hifi set to start a tape at 6am or so. Only trouble is, the cassette snapped years ago, so the only noise it makes is a pronounced 'click' and hum as the broken cassette is turned. It's enough to wake me though. I then sleepily set it for around 6:25am and then 6:40am. My alarm clock proper (which gradually increases in volume) is across the room and set for 6:45am just in case I fall back asleep. Sounds completely mad, but it wakes me up really gradually, so I'm much fresher than otherwise when I get up.

I think it's fair say that no-one else anywhere has that set up.

Or to answer the question: yes.

I tend to wake up naturally before my alarm clock goes off though if I go back to bed after that I'd sleep all morning without it as a backup.

My phone's near useless as an alarm clock cos it can't keep time from day to day! Bloody Sony.

Re: Headlines - Question of the day: do you still use an alarm clock?

i use a radio controlled alarm clock (set to go off !/2 an hour early) with a nice big snooze button.
i like to be able to whack it without opening my eyes.

P.S. just pointing out that moyles is the nations 2nd favourite DJ as wogan breakfast show has the largest audience.
