Finally an official release!
overcockers have them on pre-order at £206.99 - so sub 200 from other places looks likely

Yup. 500GB/platter vs 375GB/platter for the Seagate 1.5TB drive.
£204 is the cheapest on Google Shopping (http://www.hp-sales.co.uk/products.asp?partno=WD20EADS)
You generally always pay more for the highest density drives. The exception being the 1.5TB seagate which can be had for about £115.
I want 5 for one of my NAS boxes
hmm these would fill up my:

which i ordered yesterday,quite nicely
However think i might take the cheaper 1TB option, its quite a saving.

Wooooooooooo. Bring on the 1tb price drops!...Hopefully
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Bring on single platter 500GB drives. I might be able to afford those...
Is it likely the 1TB and 1.5TB drives will use the same platters?

Sounds tasty!
Would love one of these for my HTPC, but the price needs to come down first. My 750Gb is bursting at the seams!
Ooooo, anyone fancy lending me one of these so I cna test it in my Terastation, could live with 4 of these in the box instead of 2 Terastations with 4x500Gb drives in it...
Should be at 1pb anyday now then... 2TB is huge. Nice to know computers still amaze me.
