bloody hell that seems like they just made a new ut game! when is the patch going to come out?

omg achievements, so glad i got it off steam now!
I must admit that I'm quite keen on games with achievements now; it really adds to the replay value etc. Might keep an eye out for a cheapie copy of UT3 just to try and get a few!Originally Posted by magneticman

yeah, when they include "a worthy successor to ut99 and ut2k4" in their list of fixes i might go back, until then meh

Oh, so Epic finally decided to take UT3 out of Beta?
How nice of them. Maybe it'll be worth playing now.... though I some what doubt it.
I didn't look through the whole change log but was there something along the lines of 'Removed the completely ridiculous attempt at a campaign mode'?
Also, I'd like to point out that the 'Major Improvements to server browser' were nearly all present in UT99...
Oh, thanks for including a 'Join by IP' option, jeez, who would of thought that was a good idea... bet the players wanting that added totally side-swiped Epic.
My estimation of Epic Games dropped faster than an anvil destined for Wile E Coyote when they released UT3. That was the most epic fail of a game release by such a respected dev.
Epic seriously dropped the ball on UT3. I'm a self professed UT fanboy, but the UT3 console port to PC was cheap.
How that UI for the game got out of testing phase I still don't know.
With patch 1.3, I actually started to enjoy it a bit more, so I'm really looking forward to this update. UT2004 will take some beating though
How about that Linux port that's been sitting on a shelf for months?

linux? that wont save ut3 mate but this patch seems like it could
Gears makes money for Epic now, UT made money 5 years ago, since then the market has evolved. UT3 was not a good game, I don't think that this patch is going to alter that either. The Linux build would be nice, but it isn't going to make any coin though we all wish that was not the case. UT2K4 really was was the pinnacle for the series.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...
I think I need this game! Still playing the original Unreal which is still great in itself even after 7-8 odd years!
