What's the price for the Q8200s rumoured to be, then?
Would that work in a p5b-vm (1066 fsb)? How much would the speed be reduced by?

My bad - the price of the S parts will be cut soonYour MB seems to have a FSB limit of 1066 MHz, the Q8200S is a 1333 MHz FSB processor, so I don't think it is compatible. Even IF the BIOS does let the CPU work, you'll take a 30% speed hit, it would be better to buy a 65w dual-core, such as the E5200 or E7400 that will work fine with a 1066 FSB.

I'd use the PC as a "spare". So, if a mate came round, we might play FarCry against each other, or whatever.
I should probably just leave the E6600 that's currently inside and just spend money on my new PC (as and when).
Edit: You just got your first "Thanks". (I know it looks like I thank everybody, but I'm a "thankful" person.)
I was planning to go for a quad core but opted for a core2duo e8400. Now that the price of quad core is dropping, i'm not sure what to get.
