I wonder if Sony are in support of this? and if not how long it will be before its banned or it bans you from playing online, if they do endorse it then i wonder if MS following suit for the Xbox.

Surley this will have a massive inpact on the PC games market ??

Not to sure how i should feel about this tbh as we will probably see more and more Console ports for PC, which is well ....... crap.

I never even thought about that, well that certainly has put me of buying it...surely they wouldnt though? If they did that wouldn't sony ban 3rd party controllers?

They wouldnt ban 3rd party controllers no (not pads anyway), but this totally different, it maybe classes as cheating to a certain point of view.

I personally dont think that its great news for Sony either, as it would far to bias for people playing online, they would soon get sick of being on the recieving end of a keyboard bashers advantage, i know i would.

Then to keep things fair maybe sony should implement a pad only server and such (use some kind of coding to get around it like ut3 does) that would easily make things fair there, however i cant really see it as cheating, your choice of pad/mouse is your choice really right? i mean this weekend we was all playing ut2k and one lad wanted to use a xbox360 pad, so we set it up and tbh he was amazing with it! getting in the top 4 was not hard for him, he killed me with headshots a number of times! so really if people are use to the pads then they shouldnt have to much of a problem, granted mouse is still easier but to them a pad is

I would say that you wouldnt really gain an advantage using a wheel, if anything i think its more difficult with a race wheel.

I dont think the two can be compared personally,

You would gain a massive advantage using keyboard over pad however using a wheel over a pad i wouldnt really say that there was much in it.

ok maybe not cheating using the converter, but would you want to play against a keyboard user if you were using a pad? i think not.

This is only my opinion at the end of the day, but personally console and PC gaming should be keep seperate.

    /peace

Re: News - PS3 Eagle Eye converter launches

I agree with you Steve - there is simply no comparison between the accuracy and speed you can get with a keyboard/mouse compared to a pad.

Just have to hope that either Sony can detect and ban it, or that its priced so high that the majority of gamers won't be able to afford it. Its a brilliant idea and respect to them for it, but it gives a huge advantage to its users that is better than most cheats.

Remember what happened on the dreamcast? 2 cases there, 1) Quake 3 when PC users could play on the same servers..result = massacre of any DC user. 2) When you could use a standard kb/mouse directly on the console (no dodgy 3rd party controller). Result? Massacre of DC pad users.

Great news for single player but has the potential to ruin online gaming on consoles..

Re: News - PS3 Eagle Eye converter launches

Or maybe common sense will finally prevail and console manufacturers will start allowing mouse and keyboards to work with consoles. Not at any point have any of you said that m/kb is worst than joystick so why not use it!? It's not like everyone else can't go out and buy one of these. The only stupid thing sony is doing is not making this themselves same for xbox360.

The PS3 will actually use a mouse keyboard combo IF the game is coded for it (and xbox 360 will allow you to used a keyboard but only when it displays an on screen keyboard)

I'm firmly in the controller is better camp, so if people want to use this let them
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
