    Re: ps3

it doesn't have any dvd ripping features, if that's what you're asking

it will allow you to copy a video file in a supported format to local disk though

    PS3 Video 9 - PlayStation 3 Video Converter

You'll need to convert them, or you can use something like TVersity to stream the video over from your pc

    Re: ps3

****ing cheeky if you ask me

"this app was so hard to develop, donate us cash plz " - it's nothing more than a gui for the open-source "ffmpeg" encoder app and other bits of other peoples' work. notice how it says so in big letters on their si... oh wait, no, it doesn't.

infact, the app isn't legal, since it violates the license used by ffmpeg by not including a copy of the license terms

On the ffmpeg site they even link back to Some of Red Kawa's websites (pspvideo9 amongst others), which would certainly seem to imply that ffmpeg's creators don't have a problem with it.

They have every right to ask for a donation IMHO - websites and download bandwidth still cost money, especially as the software is pretty much the defacto conversion software for the platform which means *lots* of people download it...

If you need to get uppety about something, why don't you chase down the commercial companies who are blatantly ripping off ffmpeg *and* making a lot of money off other's hard work?

use tversity, which will transcode your files on the fly to something the ps3 understands, and make the files available via upnp over the network

no, because that's the exact opposite of what you asked for

to do that, you need to transcode your files to a format the ps3 understands, using a tool like the one Stoo suggests (ps3 video 9)
