annoying that they dont' actually stick a microphone next to the thing while the test is going on. No way do I believe that that was at 35 dbA.
- The noise testing is in an Anechoic chamber that has a floor (lowest possible level) of 19 dBa
- 35dBa is the measurement of the fan on the hex and the gpu fan combined. No other system noise is measured simply because that is an uncontrolled variable.
- To isolate these two fans, we simply attach DC power supplies to each fan and run them at the same RPMs as they were spinning during testing.
- Lastly, we don't use the reading from the motherboard to determine fan speed as it could be inconsistent. We use a laser tachometer gun to measure the fan speeds.
