Short answer - no, I'm not happy with BT 2mb, long answer - No no no no, I'm very unhappy because every building around us has 40MB+ fibre and they decided not to upgrade our cabinet (a building of 70 or so flats), when I call to complain... I'll leave it there, calling BT is what it is...
Extremely happy with performance. But despise contacting them to handle any faults, they're slow, stupid, and useless. I have to break every problem down for them, and even then they literally take months to handle *anything*, and after their bout of extreme procrastination, in the end they still get it wrong. I'd feel very sorry for any Joe Public who comes along and doesn't know the first thing about networking. Their customer support is nothing short of contemptible.
I'm extremely happy with Plusnet. I get a fairly steady 93 mbit/s from their fttp service and they don't charge overcharge for it.
All my interactions with customer service have been professional.
Am I happy? Absolutely not.
I can say I am happy. I am with UPC in Ireland and all goes to plan so far. No limits, no worries and easy to talk to customer service. If needed engineer calls out in just few days and all sorted. Very reasonable pricing too. I do need to upgrade my wireless or get the mains thingy though..
I'm with Virgin and am very happy, currently on 50Mb and average about 48Mb plus they're upgrading me to 120Mb for free. Never had dealings with customer service as I've never had an outage in 4 years of using them.
I am with Virgin and have been for around 10 years.
I am very happy with there service. What I pay for I get, and customer service is awesome.
Just 2 months ago, I was called and told that because I have been a long and loyal customer, they upgraded me from 10Meg to 60Meg and gave me a free tivo box as well.
One happy customer here.
i would say im happy with bt max line can handle is 8 mbps and i get 6.5 ish. talk talk are the worst company i have ever heard of. customer service is horrific. had a slow connection last week with bt. emailed them at 6:30pm on a saturday night and had a phonecall by 9 pm with an english person on the phone . problem was sorted overnight
Happy with VM, 60mb/s pretty much always hanging around 58 - 65mb/s its brilliant , only thing id say is if they could remove the traffic management it would be nice as i still try and minimise my downloading during the day but i havent hit it yet, be nice to download a 10gb game without being throttled but i guess throttle to 30mb/s is still great but the upload is still only 3mb/s which should be upgraded to 6mb/s later down the line.
Yeah upload is the next big thing, need MOAR bandwidth it would be better if we had more than currently, prefer 60mb download and 10(preferably 30) mb/s upload!.
Left VM due to massive oversubscribing in the area and useless tech support: "The modem isn't getting an IP address" = "You probably have spyware sir"
With BT Infinity and very very happy. Connection is always maxed when I want it to be. Modem / Router are actually very good. Not had to use tech support yet.
Virgin media cable = excellent + very reliable (cutstomer service when you needed it was atrocious)
Virgin media 'national' service (non-cable) has crap-to-mediocre speed broadband with all the cost of the cable service and the same terrible customer service. Unfortunatelty, this is what I'm on at the moment, so no.
happy yes .. over the moon yes ..be* are fantastic .. no throttle ,min t&c and i get 20mb 24/7/365
and they even called out bt when i moved cause line was noisy as feck tied new pairs and been fine since
be with them now for 5 yrs ..and really can't see me moving ..
I'm fairly happy with my Virgin 10M service. The download just about fast enough as it really is 10Mbit. There are no download limits, but they do throttle during certain parts of the day. My main gripe is the cost. It's quite expensive.
Years ago I started with Bulldog who were hopeless. Then moved quickly to BE who were great. After moving home to a new place before BE were enabled on the local exchange I went with BT who were fine. But for the last few years have been with O2 who have been cheaper and more hassle free than BT. Due to my current distance from the exchange I can't even get 8mb/s, but still fondly remember my 18mb/s with BE at my old place
Well been with Virgin since it was NTL so that gives you some idea of what I think of their service. Have just been upgraded to their super hub for FREE... now running at 60mb tested on speedtest.net at numerous times trough the day, OK with throttling it drops to 20mb but hey that's still over 3 times faster than anything through a BT line in Swansea. Customer service well the majority of the time no problem as when I have had to call them things get sorted very quickly I think once or twice it has taken 24hrs to sort out but that really is an exception. So all in all very happy.
