Re: Features - QOTW: Are you happy with your broadband provider?

Moved from Newnet to Xilo/Uno broadband (partial LLU via TalkTalk's equipment). Could not be happier. Not the cheapest, but Customer Service TOP CLASS (and in this country!).

Newnet "had" been fine for the last couple of years, but when I was migrated onto ADSL2+ . BT's DLM kept messing me about and Newnet could not get it sorted. Got the distinct impression that they were not interested in private customers these days, more commercial orientated. Now on a fixed IP profile with Xilo and get great (for how far I am from the exchange) speeds, 11.5mbps. Never goes down and great ping as well. Would recommend them to anyone (as long as you are not looking for a "cheap" service, which they are not).
    Live long and prosper.

I am, but I do want faster, which we may go to virgin for. We cant get BT infinity though since the cabinet isnt upgraded but the exchange is. Our old house could which was on the same exchange...

Tesco 8mbps - Happy. ADSL service is 8mbps, line rated at 8mpbs and I get 8mbps download. 11 months into contract with zero downtime throughout that time.

Re: Features - QOTW: Are you happy with your broadband provider?

I'm not happy with BT - there is not enough demand for fibre in my central london location - SW3 and 750 metres from an exchange. Instead 8Mbps service gives me about 2Mbps - perhaps 2.5Mbps at 4am. Modems have been changed. New cables run. It is just terrible. However, I should not complain, I should just switch - which I will do in September....

Was quite happy for a long time (O2 Premium) but recently my speeds have decreased by 25% for some reason.

Re: Features - QOTW: Are you happy with your broadband provider?

Virgin Media here, I am pleased over all. Customer service is down right offensive, took me 11 sepertae phone calls over 4 weeks to get my bill adjusted to the original renewal price agreed. Took an email to the CEO's office to get it rectified.

TIVO is fantastic (if a bit laggy in the menus) and the 60mb broadband is great over the ethernet cable, and 15-20mb over the wireless. Good enough for me!

I Can say im very happy. Supplied by orange with their line rental and eve and weekend calls paying £18. Unlimited broadband (as i have been known to download 1.8Tb a month). Connection is very stable at 15.4Mbps on Copper with an average ping of 28ms. One big thing people forget to check is jitter. Im pleased to say mine is an excellent 0ms (lower the better)

Re: Features - QOTW: Are you happy with your broadband provider?

I'm relatively happy. Opal (who might now be TalkTalk business) have 24mbit in this area while BT has 8, and we're 300 metres from the exchange so we're getting 20mbit. Not bad at all. What does make me unhappy is our upload speed of 1mbit (at least it is roughly that) because I run torrents, cloud backup, a music server so I can stream to my phone etc. and 1mbit just isn't enough, 20 at least would be acceptable. At least I'm going to uni soon so I should have 100mbit both ways at least

Re: Features - QOTW: Are you happy with your broadband provider?

BeThere (BE) value - max speed 12mps. £17 pcm...

    Actual speed - 10mps & ping 33 (judder 0).

Great service, set up took 2 weeks that seemed like two months. I haven't had to place a ticket with them so I can't comment on there fault process...
I won't get infinity in my area until 2013.

Very unhappy with talk talk. Despite giving me the speed that was advertised, they are charging me twice what I was quoted and are making it very difficult for me to resolve the problem.

(QUOTE: The days of dial-up connections and overnight downloads are long gone)
If only all I get is an average of 40-50kb download with Sky full price broadband and TV package before it was AOL diffident provider same speed.
The big joke is I live in a large town opposite a business area.

Re: Features - QOTW: Are you happy with your broadband provider?

Talktalk here, bit of a joke company, often put the price up without saying anything. So i constantly have to make sure they.re not pulling a fast one. Can't beat the price though. Fttc is here in october, estimated 29Mbit down and 6Mbit up for £15, can't wait for decent upload speed. I've been uploading 10Gb of vids to my google drive for several days now and it's irritating.
