£549 doesn't sound too bad.
Thanks. Nice round up. Although I am a little nostalgic for the "Table of Doom".
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
you can get 7970`s for under £300 and theres no way this is worth £250 more.
Pretty smart (or standard, depending on how you view it) move by Nvidia. Release a premium product (TITAN) to test the waters then take it and mass produce a slightly lower end version for the masses (well, it's still a premium product for hardcore PC gamers but I think they'll sell far more of these than TITANs).
Although it's pretty much a rebadge of a feature cut TITAN, it still seems pretty good to me. I'm aware most people hate rebadges though so I may be the only one who thinks that.
Hopefully AMD up their game more to push Nvidia into making something even better than the GTX 780 for their next series.
Well it depends what model 7970 you are talking about, when we get custom 780s they will be quieter. Power draw is about the same.
It's frequently better than 20% faster, not sure what that figure is based on?
If you are happy with 7970 performance, then obviously that is the better card, but if you want more then this is the only reasonable single card option.
Where's the temperature, power draw and noise figures? Did you forget to include them Tarinder?
Tarinder (23-05-2013)
Overpriced for what it is,especially when people were complaining how overpriced the last 28NM high end cards in 2012 were.
Worse than the GHz edition going by Anandtech's numbers - http://www.anandtech.com/show/6973/n...-780-review/19
This does not use any more power than a 7970 and certainly has more performance per watt.
It's noisier than a custom 7970 sure, but there will be custom 780s too.
yes it does use more power than the 7970`s = both of them
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
That's only because the 7970 isn't working it's hardest in BF3. In furmark the 7970 uses more power.
And anyway, if we stick to BF3 numbers the 780 uses 7% more power but adds 34% more performance.
Or 39% more at 1080p but that seems a waste of the extra power tbh.
