I'll stick with Noctua.
CoolerMaster must be out of their minds with this pricing...
anyone else look back on the days of a £15 Freezer 7 Pro being the pinnacle of air cooling with misty eyes? just me?
RGB fans can just be added onto a Noctua, BeQuiet or other cooler later.
Better spending on the better cooler first, even if you have to pay more to add RGB.
Easier maintenance as a consequence of easier fitting should IMO be more of a priority than your lighting.
Considering Noctua provides a backplate with bolts that go straight through the motherboard that mechanically clamps the mounting mechanism from the front and back, the only way the heatsink would do damage from moving it about is if you hurled your computer down the stairs. It's incredibly stable.
too expensive.. and not easy too install a big no no in my book can get better cooling for less
Umm no you spanner the bolts without the cooler attached, then after attaching the cooler you spanner the nuts. With the mounting brackets attached to the heatsink, you're asked to fit and tighten four bolts using the supplied wrench.
Yes it can still be a bit tricky however the nuts sit higher than the bolts, this is always why you should fit an air cooler out of the case.
Noctua's sprung screw method is easier to fit
As to price the Noctua dh-15 is £80 so it looks like cooler master is trying to slightly undercut them, however at that price I'd take an AIO cooler over ether of them.
The Hyper 212 has been so successful because it's got amazing an price/performance point, in the same way the old arctic cooling freezer 7 pro did.
