Its clearly a 4K 60hz machine built on the bones of the PS4 Pro, a lot of the hype is not really deserving but the controller is pretty good.
PS5 completely ignores PC monitors, 1440p Freesync, PC 120hz modes.
PS5 HDMI 2.1 features are barely non-existent, no HDMI-VRR, no ALLM, no 8K 60hz support.
PS5 120hz support only applies to video 120hz modes (not the same as PC 120Hz timings).
PS5 only outputs 120hz if a game supports it, otherwise it stays in 60hz mode at all other times.
No support for Dolby Vision HDR.
Cant cold store PS5 games on USB storage.
Auto forces on HDR all the time, which is bad if you have an OLED.
It's basically a PS4 Pro with better hardware inside it and a good cooling system.

There was a lot of backlash regarding PS4 fans and consoles were getting RMAd a LOT when they were first released, so it makes sense for them to design it better this time around.
I consider buying a PS5 but it would be nice for some silly problems like refresh rate to be sorted out first.
Went looking for one today, as a xmas present for my son. Got quoted £750 from my local 'CEX' shop (they had ONE in stock) . Told them where they could stick it.

Sounds like a staff member was trying to pull a fast one and make a personal profit there, as I highly doubt that was the official pricing policy of Game.
EDIT: For anyone who comes across this/these posts later, continue reading below as it wasn't Game after all, so no potentially misbehaving staff members.

The design is a bit weird, why not copy the PS3?. The controller is also awesome compared to the Series X and this is the main reason why I would prefer it over Xbox.
Exited for this, can't wait? dont know when it will be available in india
Haven't got one, but just reminds me of an old router I used to have years ago. Dated design.
That definitely does make more sense.
As CeX only sell previously-owned items, I could see them being willing to price things that way with items in high demand, especially as they may have paid more than the original cost themselves to buy it from whoever the person is who sold it to them.

Given that PS5 has no plans to support 1440p, my interest in that console is just about zero.
I love how they said that it would be "little effort" to implement from a technical standpoint, but that they felt consoles should be paired with a TV and not a monitor, so they had no plans to make that effort.
Nice, Sony. Another company that wants to tell me how to use their product instead of letting me decide for myself.
Oh well, money saved will be poured into the PC upgrade, or hell, I might even try an XSX.
