Isn't it. While I'm a little flexible about what my PC looks like it is glass sided and on my desk. I don't want to be looking at that particular colour combo every day. It's almost like they think standing out is better than fitting in. I guess some might consider it good marketing but I'm not buying. Lets hope this is more acceptable.

And that's the reason why I spent the extra and got the Chromax black NH D15 and accompanying fans (inc. 140mm x2 and 92mm x1 Noctua Chromax black case fans)... to go with the all black motherboard (MSI X570 Unify) and the black version of the Coolermaster SL600 (modded with a 92mm intake for the CPU+black magnetic dust filter). The only slight fly in the sticky stuff is the LED of the GPU (also all but black in the form of a 5700XT Sapphire Pulse) though that's largely hidden by the soundcard (black with a touch of gold) in the vertical position on a PCIe x1 riser cable (black ) to maximise cool air intake for the GPU.

Didn't set out to do all black, just wanted to avoid RGB like the plague.

I'm a fan of the Noctua stuff now that I've used it, should be interesting to see how these come out.

Do you think it was just a marketing thing, i get people don't like the colours (no bothered myself) but i do wonder if the brown and beige has some sort of reason behind it other than the instant recognisability factor, some sort of secret meaning.

As long as it's beige and brown.

Well when you literally build the best pc fan in existence as a company you have full power over unique design decisions which will make your brand even more recognisable. Thats the thought I guess.

Heh, I went the other way and decided I really don't need to see the inside of my cases, so I never bother with glass side panels (and consequently don't care about getting matching colour combinations for the inside).
I'm definitely most interested in good quality hardware that doesn't have RGB, and least interested in how it looks

Re: Noctua teases the 'Redux' CPU cooler line

Brown and beige has been a brand image for ever. It says Noctua and in my humnle one, it shows that you know your cooling and don't care about the colour.. it's for cooling .

And then a decade later.. I found myself liking Noctua brown and beige for it's own sake

Re: Noctua teases the 'Redux' CPU cooler line

Well the main reason I went for the SL600 was it was one of the few cases (of two really, the window-less BeQuiet 900 rev2 cases had dropped out of stock at that point which was the other one I was aiming for) that I liked the look of, I do after all have to look at it every day, could fit the NH D15 and would fit in the space that I have available for the case... and, to be honest, I like the aesthetics of PC internals .

Had I managed to get my hands on the BeQuiet then I probably would have gone for the more traditionally coloured D15, after all it's a cased purchase that I want to be on par with my old NZXT Lexa case in terms of longevity which lasted the better part of 15 years (and housed an e6600, Q6600 and it's last hardware in the form of my old 3930K, & still going strong with a Zalman CNPS9700) before PC hardware outgrew it's rather modest size.

Beige and brown aren't even that far from the usual palette for PC components. I hope everyone buying Chromax makes the beige fans cheaper.

Re: Noctua teases the 'Redux' CPU cooler line

This is great news, especially as I heard they are planning on releasing an all white redux fan in Q2. It's about time Noctua started to expand their colour palette as I think the beige gimmick has run it's course.

I'd pay extra for an airflow case that colour-matched Noctua's brown/beige ffs.

There's a reason why wood trim is a premium optional feature in cars.
