I expect performance will be terrible with RT on, just like it is on Nvidia cards, but would be interesting to see quite how they compare. The internet hasn't caught up yet it seems.
Seen some reports from people who tried it - its not that great on RDNA2 GPUs:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comment...performs_like/
It does seem AMD RDNA2 GPUs in general have more issues with RT reflections than the Nvidia Ampere GPUs,but are more competitive in other RT effects.
Can you define "terrible"
On a 30 series, the RT performance is pretty good, with all the eye candy turned on. With my 3090 I can max them, but those with 3080 can still run with RT turned down a notch from psycho and get good (over 60FPS) performance @ 1440p..
With a 20 series however, the performance is indeed terrible (even with a 2080ti) and I would expect the RDNA2 cards to perform similarly.
Shame though as RT makes a huge difference to the visuals in this game!
I will give this another go at the weekend I think, been waiting for this patch before i continued the story..time to give it a go

33GB patch.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
I guess under 30fps at ones native resolution and/or inconsistent frame times. I was under the impression upscaling via DLSS was practically required on Nvidia cards because the performance at native resolution was indeed 'terrible' - at my 1440p and if I was lucky enough to have a 3070 say then I would have to turn RT down to reflections only just in order to hit 30fps (according to techspot).
A friend has an overclocked RTX3060TI,which is not massively slower than an RTX3070 and DLSS is pretty much needed at qHD in CB2077. The RT performance of Ampere still is not enough if you need £1000+ GPUs, just to run at qHD with reduced RT settings(if you don't use DLSS),especially as qHD is found on sub £200 monitors. It tells me Ampere, let alone RDNA2,RT performance is going to age badly, just like Turing has.
It makes me wonder if I should hold on for Nvidia Hopper or RDNA3 next year.
Also, people have noticed some aspects of non-RT lighting, etc were a bit broken(SSR for example) and even things like the water do look rubbish if you have a normal GPU. The game is very pretty in some aspects, but also has some graphical aspects looking a bit rubbish too,so it can be jarring at times IMHO.

Hmm, the changelog page, seems ironic it says : error_404

I hope they fix the stupid Legendary crafting spec bug in the game. They only appear the first time you go to a vendor, and dissapear from the game after that.
And even 60fps on a 4K monitor... which just sickens me and my poverty-spec rig, but at least I got to see it in action for a bit.
Huh?
It's on GoG and Steam, with the latter only being 28.8GB download.
Yes... just like those who can afford private aircraft and superyachts get to enjoy the full freedoms of those experiences, while the best the rest of us can hope for is a radio controlled drone or MS Flight Simulator... Doesn't detract from the fundamental fun, though.

no amount of patches will "fix" a mediocre game
