Cool SAPPHIRE PURE Innovation A9RX480 S939 Mainboard

SAPPHIRE Technology is launching a S939 mainboard with all the enthusiast-orientated bells and whistles, and performance, it says, is, well, class-leading. The SAPPHIRE PURE Innovation PI-A9RX480 arrives with a lot to prove to naysayers and doubters. Let's see if it can turn S939 mainboard hierarchy upside down. Read on to find out...

That's a nice board Id pay the £135 if it was the 200 chipset that had an intergrated gpu, so I could save up for a graphics card afterwards...

I think they'd expect you to run something a little beefier than onboard graphics on this enthusiast oriented board.

Thank you for the most constructive feedback.

We must have missed this one.

Do you have any other comments on the detailed editorial?

I looked and all I found was reviews from across the pond, but I guess I'm not infallible.

I am an enthusiast but I dont have the money, so an IGP would plug the gap for a few months.

    Red face

Thanks for the thorough review guys.

I'm trying to get my head round the comments in the hexus.afterburner section. If I'm reading it right, what Paul's saying is

    - our review shows that this board isn't the best bang for the buck
    - but that doesn't matter
    - 'cos the guy who designed the reference board that this board is based on "designed it to be the ultimate board for enthusiasts and overclockers"

So, no matter that the testing during the review, and the analysis of the price/performance, show objectively that this isn't the best buy for enthusiasts -- we should buy it anyway because the designer was well-intentioned?

I'm sure John Bruno is a sound, straight-up and honest guy. But I'm also sure that I can get a Socket 939 mainboard that performs as well (or better) than this Sapphire for less than £130. And I'm doubly sure of this after reading the Hexus review. So what's with the afterburner comments?

Nice review as always, looks like the new ATI chipset is pretty nifty

Shame Tarinder (not Rys ) didn't answer my query to see whether or not its UV reactive

    Sorry about the outburst.

And about the language, which some of you might find offensive. However, some people 'might' get offended, when others consider Poland not to be a part of Europe, when in fact its smack dab in the middle of it That was my first impression actually.

And PLEASE, there are such things as alternative queries in Google:

Actually, the reason I registered, was to make this post. I deeply appreciate your reply.

FrazPC.pl is a site visited by nearly half a million people every month and, up to now its reputation is unprecedented.

Hey it's fair enough if we missed a site that's published a review. I suppose technically it's a European exclusive in the English language, but that becomes a bit of a mouthful. XD

Anyway, what's most important is that we deliver editorial that is of value to our readership, and I know we've done that with this review and then of course there is everything that PD has said, which there's no need for me to reiterate.

Poland's a country? I thought it was a place made up by parents to scare little children

and actually Poland is in Eastern Europe (at least that is the accepted fact)
