    definitely a portable device with a small form factor. the insistence in both weeks that you need to touch to start suggests it incorporates touchscreen technology like the DS etc.

    wow, i like the idea of having it as a media centre remote to control music all over the house.

    Looks very neet but i wonder about battery and gaming capability? It seemed to be playing some kinda halo, hmmmmm

    Microsoft have now commented on the video footage.

    Update

    "While Origami is a concept we've been working on with partners, the video you have seen is a year old and represents our initial exploration into this form factor, including possible uses and scenarios. However, we are excited to share more details about the evolution of the Origami concept with you in the coming weeks."

    I don't understand - surely it's obvious what it is - just read the source code from the page:
    <!--

    Origami Project: the Mobile PC running Windows XP

    -->

    I mean, duh!

    So it's going to be an ultra small format computer that runs windows XP. With a touchscreen, and hopefully has battery life of more than 10mins too.
    I'm sure it will have everything else such a PC would have otherwise it wouldn't sell and they wouldn't call it a mobile PC - so HD is there, as is memory and a CPU with some integrated graphics.

    The GPS unit for the car will most likely be an option - a very expensive option, or they will provide it and ramp the price up anyway.

    And it's of course going to have wireless of some form or other because what self respecting PDA doesn't have some wireless capability?

    Basically it's a mini tablet PC, built by Samsung/intel for Microsoft. I am dubious as to how great it's gaming ablilities will be compared to the PSP etc.
