my main question is, how much will this cost us ?

its still bad enough that the game is full of bugs and they dont do a great deal to fix any of the problems.

the booster does not adress any of the in game issues so many of us have to put up with !

EA have taken a wrong turn avoiding fixing there games.

I am intrigued that you think they have taken a 'wrong turn in not fixing their games' since Battlefield 2142 has done very well considering the initial and some ongoing problems in BF2. Not forgetting that in itself is not 'new' in the sense that from a casual viewers perspective (mine!) it looks very similar and with very similar game mechanics.

I did always think it was a little cheeky to be trying to get you to buy more models for in game objects, without any extra abilities added but it must have been successful or else they wouldn't be continuing the startegy.

they used to patch games and throw in a free map.., all the pay to buy maps do its empty a good server 2 weeks down the line.

i brought both mods for BF2, and safe to say i have not played them in months. due to the 1 or 2 that dont own it when you meet up online to find a server.

I'll end up buying it, the urban titan mode sounds cool to me.

As for bugs I'm sick of people whining, CS has bugs, FEAR has bugs, BF has bugs, Quake has bugs, CoH has bugs. Get over it, i'd rather they didn't grind the production of every future sequel and expansion pack to a halt trying to fix one wall hack or something else just as pathetic.

If you play on a good server with good people you will have fun.

In that case then Gonzo there is no point complaining since your happy enough with the service to continue being a customer of theirs. There is isn't anything wrong with that but you shouldn't complain when you will keep doing the same thing.

I decided not to buy BF2142 for a number of reasons, when I first purchased BF2 it was hard play since there were a small number of issues that prevented me enjoying the experience fully. These were not fixed for quite a while. There was also the issue of booster packs which I was not prepared to pay for since it was skins for existing models. There is also the gameplay mechanic of the vehicles practically having free reign over the maps. And finally there was a fairly poor unsporting community, sure there was smaller groups with better people but they want too much of my time.

I aint going near this - I bought BF2142 but it is buggy as hell and as in the case of BF2, EA are more interested in pumping out 'booster packs' and draining more revenue than addressing on-going issues. Chuckskull - BF2 onwards is synonymous with the word bug, and I dont think that this can be called anecdotal or whining. Other games indeed have bugs, all software does, but BF2+ has more than its fair share.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...

I don't think I will buy this as BF2142 hasn't really caught me like BF2 did. I'm not too bothered with the idea of "booster" packs for games as long as they aren't too expensive.

For those of you skipping BF2142 at the moment, can I just say that Titan mode is the single biggest leap for the series since it was first launched with BF1942. I played 1942 religiously, then played BF:V at the start but went back to 1942, played BF2 at the start but went back to 1942 then drifted into CS:S due to not many people playing 1942 anymore. Took a punt on BF2142 and boy am I glad I did, Titan mode has completely revitalised the series if you ask me, it's more or less the only PC game I've played since it launched and I can't get enough of it. I'll almost certainly be getting this expansion pack.

Titan mode is immense and well balanced so you don't spend an entire round getting sniped or blown up by armor whores.
